Corner Spa Tub Removal Bathroom Remodeling Project
This is an example of a corner spa tub which we removed, then converted the corner space to a walk-in shower with a bench seat and glass enclosure. The existing small shower located to the left of the spa tub was removed and the space was converted to a closet.
Prepping the Area for the Walk-In Shower
Removed approximately 6” of existing faux marble above the tub, along with the spa corner tub. Built a deck approximately 6” high from the original floor with a tread depth of approximately 7”. The step rise, tread, and new threshold face were tiled with floor tile.
The frame was removed in preparation for the window trim kit.
Easy Access Walk-in Shower for Safety and Convenience
The original drain was in a post-tension concrete deck and no modifications could be made to this type of deck. The custom deck was required to accommodate this situation. Additionally, the drain was moved to accommodate a center drain location. Floors were inspected for floor penetrations after exposing the framing, and where necessary, were sealed according to code.
The remodeled bathroom features a walk-in closet with a bench seat and a closet, with bi-fold doors. The bathroom remodeling project ensures a safer and more convenient space for the owner and adds much-needed storage for towels and other items.
Our bathroom remodels are available in a variety of colors and we are happy to provide color samples for tubs, showers, paint, flooring, and all other materials that will be used for your project.
